Excellent questions! I think that Facebook has been the big one! I had a Myspace page, but didn't really like it. My 22-year-old intern at work showed me Facebook, so I signed up. I really loved it from the get-go. I have really enjoyed talking to my college friends again, reconnecting with a few high school friends, and having another place to hang out with my online friends.
I think I realized how cool this online thing could be when people started gathering together for meet-ups....I was a little hesitant at first, but now that I've met cool people ----like you Andrea----I know the power of Web 2.0 to bring people together.
